"But finally the day came, and with a storm forecasted, we started moving up here on Saturday, September 20. Bob was in school, so Billie and I had to carry our belongings and tear down the shack, then use that lumber again to board in living quarters at the house. After making a gillion trips -then helping pull nails on the side, by night I was so tired I didn't know my name. All day Billie would say, ‘It's sure going to rain like the dickens before we get moved’. But with all the threatening clouds, it didn't rain then. So Sunday we finished boarding in, and with Bob's help, by sun-down we were again housed in". Bea Adams, September 22, 1939
The family of three moved into a section of the incomplete house. The area that was boarded in for their "winter quarters" was approximately 8’x 26’, and their walls were tarpaper and the siding from the tent/shack.

06/21/1940	Shower fixtures and toilet flush-box installed
07/03/1940	Shower completed, but no hot water
07/06/1940	Power saw purchased
08/02/1940	10 celloglass doors installed; all tarpaper removed
08/10/1940	Butane tank purchased for gas stove
11/10/1940	Fireplace started
11/25/1940	First hot water heater

01/10/1941	Carport and hot water heater shed completed
03/10/1941	Some kitchen cabinets in
08/08/1941	Rear shed framing up
1942
01/12/1942	Gas heaters converted to burn butane, in use
12/13/1942	Ceiling up in Bob's bedroom
1943
10/14/1943	Mr. Wright ordering tule mat for roof
	Bill Adams all set up for building screen doors.
12/1943	Glass doors and screens installed
1944
01/1944	Tule mat not delivered; cedar shakes used
03/1944	Glass delivered for windows
08/1944	Brick floors "terrazzo ground" - not dry enough to wax and seal until 1/45
