Balboa Highlands, a Joseph Eichler Community

Voted one of "The 10 Best Neighborhoods You've Never Heard Of" by Los Angeles Magazine in 2003. Balboa Highlands is currently being considered for historic status by the City of Los Angeles. Built in 1963-64 by innovative Bay Area developer Joseph Eichler, it is the only Eichler tract in Los Angeles County. Balboa Highlands consists of over 100 homes on just four streets: Lisette, Nanette, Jimeno and Darla. Models include designs by prominent case study architect A. Quincy Jones, Frederick Emmons and Claude Oakland. Post and beam architecture, open air atriums and floor-to-ceiling window walls offer a unique transparency and incredible views. You can often catch glimpses of Balboa Highlands in commercials and television shows such as 'CSI'. The neighborhood has become so popular,there's a waiting list of buyers eagerly searching for the most pristine, original examples -- particularly the atrium models. Adriene Biondo
