| Designed by Paul B. Clayton. Johnie's Broiler opened back in 1958 as Harvey's Broiler. It was designed in the 50's drive-in restaurant style with lighted boomerang canopy and flamboyant signage visible to cars traveling on the busy thoroughfare of Firestone Boulevard.
A true Southern California car culture landmark, Johnie's was a favorite cruising destination, often clocking 5,000 classic cars per weekend during its heyday. Currently leased to a used car tenant. Officially declared eligible for the California State Register of Historical Resources in November 2002. Adriene Biondo
