L.A. Historic Cultural Monument 562
A three and four-story Mediterranean style structure built in 1927 and designed by A. Godfrey Bailey. It includes a cruciform plan sited at a forty-five degree angle to the street. The building has social significance as the sole physical reminder in Los Angeles of the Temperance and Women's Suffrage Movements active in the United States at the Turn of the Century. The five-story, "L" shaped building was designed by the architectural firm of Selkirk & Stanbery and Morgan, Walls & Clements. Its primary facade, in a Mediterranean style, is organized into four horizontal zones: a subtly rusticated base, a plain three-story shaft, a slightly more detailed attic and a recessed penthouse. 1920 - 1928 N Highland Avenue. The Canfield-Moreno Estate, also known as the Danziger house and the Crestmount, is a two-story, Mediterranean-style country villa. In 1923, architect Robert D. Farquhar designed the 22-room main house and detached cottages for Daisy Canfield Danziger. She lived with her husband, actor Antonio Moreno. Declared: 10/4/88

Dating from 1921 and constructed from an award- winning design by its owner and namesake. The houses are significant not only for their Mediterranean Revival design, but also the poured concrete method of construction, is most unusual for residences. The Witmer family built the first cable car in Los Angeles and founded the California Bank. Built in the late 1920's, the Holmby House is a fine example of the eclectic Mediterranean style that evolved as a unique Southern California architectural phenomenon after World War I. This two-story duplex has retained all of the exterior and interior elements typical of this style. C.E. Toberman Estate   National Register

Completed in 1924. Russell, Alpaugh and Dawson designed this 19-room residence with many amenities for the prominent real estate developer C.E. Toberman. The estate consists of an elegant three-story Mediterranean/Spanish Colonial Revival villa with a guest house, pool house and tennis court. The multi-level main residence has a slightly pitched red tile roof. Declared: 10/3/84
