Mission San Gabriel Arcangel
The fourth Mission was built of cut stone, brick, and mortar from 1791 to 1805, and it is the oldest structure
of its kind south of Monterey. On September 4, 1781, 44 people left here and founded El Pueblo de la
Reina de Los Angeles.
